Google Voice Free For 2013 And Available Outside USA

Google has announced that Google Voicewill be free for 2013. Surprisingly, Google did not post this on Google Voice blog but instead announced this on the Gmail blog. Not only Google Voice will be free for 2013, it will also be available in a lot of other destinations. Log in to your Gmail inbox and if you see a call-phone option, then Google Voice is available for your destination.
I was expecting this news about a week in advance, but it seems I was off by a week. Anyways, what matters at the end is that Google Voice is free and you have a reason to buy Obihai to replace your traditional phone network with a free landline phone system.
Although, Google did not publish what destinations will have Google Voice service, they did however gave a list of destinations where Google voice is not available.

Google Voice is not available in these destinations

If you are from one of the following destinations, then I am afraid to tell you that you will not be able to use Google Voice.
Argentina, China, Cuba, Egypt, Ghana, India, Iran, Jordan, Kenya, Mexico, Morocco, Myanmar, Nigeria, North Korea, Peru, Russian Federation, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, South Korea, Sudan, Syria, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Viet Nam
Let us hope that this will be better going forward, and more and more governments will let Google provide their service of free calling.

Google Voice available in multiple languages

Even though Google Voice provides free calls across US and Canada predominantly, it supports languages other than English and Spanish. Following is a list of languages supported by Google Voice.
Brazilian Portuguese, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English UK, Estonian, Filipino, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese.
What we want you to do is to login to your Gmail inbox and check if you see a call-phone option. It will be listed at the top of your contact list and right next to it will be a phone sign. When you click on it, a phone dialer should open up. If that is the case, and you are not from USA, please leave the name of your country/territory as a comment so that we can get an accurate account of where all Google voice is accessible. This will help our other readers as well when they travel abroad.
